The Art of Influence
- Trinity River Corridor
Challenges - The Trinity River Corridor Project is one of the most complex and largest urban developments undertaken by a city. As transportation, recreation, and environmental and flood protection projects converge along the Trinity River, residents and visitors from around the world will have a new and exciting image of the City of Dallas.
Solution - After several intake sessions with City of Dallas personnel, we crafted a creative strategy that called for a web site that would marry construction with nature. We wanted visitors to easily find construction updates, and also have their senses stimulated by the natural treasures of the Trinity. We built a Flash video introduction that married these two divergent ideas together. The main site itself features clean, modern design with an intuitive information structure.

Dallas Housing Authority
Challenges - Poor functionality and an unattractive website design frustrated Dallas Housing Authority leaders and their visitors. DHA selected ABI to reengineer the site's structure and redesign the look and feel. One of the major concerns when considering information flow was how topresent it to four distinct audiences - residents, landlords/vendors, recruits and the general market. Each of these groups required an easy to access, separate library of information.
Solution - The redesign puts information that can be life changing for struggling families or vital for landlords within a few clicks of DHA's homepage, breaking down complex government jargon into a much more readable format. Now, visitors click one of four information paths. And visitors are greeted by graphics that more effectively communicate DHA's uplifting and essential objectives. Visitors can now view properties online, upload online forms and easily access the latest HR information.

Tom Leppert - Mayor of Dallas
Challenges - In 2007, President and CEO of the country's largest construction company, Tom Leppert, entered a crowded political race of 14 seeking to be Dallas' next mayor. Handicapped by low name recognition, Tom Leppert required a branded image that would introduce him to the community and generate a connection to a large audience.
Solution - ABI created a visually stunning, multi-media web site that introduced the candidate and his positions. Our team scripted and directed a dozen online living room chats with a few citizens that enabled site visitors to meet Tom through streaming videos and hear his passion and vision for the city. Our home page design provided immediate access to donate online, sign up to help campaign, receive email updates and a calendar of events.

State Bar of Texas, Health Law Section
Challenges - The State Bar of Texas, Health Law Section, required an online application that would pull data from weekly law updates and merge them into an email blast, secure log-in functionality for members, restructuring of the site's information, the ability to add content, manage a database and an updated look.
Solution - ABI created a custom web-based application by first migrating data from hard files to a logical, well-organized online database that drastically increased the data's accessibility. This allowed the client to, with a simple click, extract multiple pieces of information based on a particular date and email it to the membership in a preformatted email. This custom Content Management System grants the client the ability to upload, edit, extract, delete, and distribute information via individual or bulk emails or by posting to the site. In addition, the library of information self-purges based on pre-determined dates and allows members to login to access secure information.

Challenges - In an effort to increase recruits to its Department of Public Safety, longtime client Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport turned to ABI to redesign the department's micro-site. The department heads wanted a site that would convey the excitement of law enforcement, showcase their nationally recognized training program and provide user-friendly navigation for an audience with a wide spectrum of needs.
Solution - We began with small group sessions with DFW public safety and marketing staff that focused on finding out the distinctive qualities of providing public safety at an airport and what draws their ideal candidate. The leadership of DPS wanted a dynamic flash introduction that immediately engaged users, especially potential recruits, and also provided easy paths to vital public safety information about the nation's 3rd busiest airport. ABI delivered.
